Rage Against the Machine T-Shirts

Rage Against the Machine is a rap, rock, metal band that was formed in Los Angeles, California in 1991. Rage Against the Machine is also known as RATM. The band consists of Tim Commerford, Tom Morello, Zack de la Rocha, and Brad Wilk. Rage Against the Machine was influenced by the Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, and Urban Dance Squad.

Rage Against the Machine released their first album, “Rage Against the Machine”, in 1992. The album was ranked by Rolling Stones Magazine as one of the top 500 albums. Rage Against the Machine released their second album, “Evil Empire” in 1996. The band was scheduled to play on Saturday Night Live to do two songs, but was shortened to one song, because the band wanted to protest Steve Forbes, Republican presidential candidate, who was on the show the same night.

Rage Against the Machine was known for their leftist political views, protests and philosophies. The band started touring in 1997, and authorities tried to have the concerts cancelled in their cities, because of the band’s views and violent actions. In 1999, Rage Against the Machine released, “The Battle of Los Angeles”, which ranked at number one, and went double platinum for the group.

In 2000, Rage Against the Machine released their final album, because Zack de la Rocha was leaving the band. The album, “Renegades” was a hit even though the band had broken up. After Zack de la Rocha left the band, the remaining members recruited Chris Cornell to replace Zack, and renamed the band, Audioslave. Audioslave’s first single was, “Cochise”, which was released in 2002, and landed the album, “Out of Exile” to reach number one on the Billboard charts.

The original Rage Against the Machine got together in 2010 to do a concert at the Download Festival. The band returned to Los Angeles and did a concert there, but there was no new music or concerts done after that as each member is doing their own thing now.
