David Bowie is one of the most influential and innovative rockers ever. His evolution went from Ziggy Stardust, to Alladin Sane, to the Thin White Duke, and he pushed limits of visual rock presentation with his androgynous look and outrageous style.

David Bowie was born on January 8, 1947 in London as David Robert Jones. In 1967 David Bowie changed his name officially to David Bowie where he debuted his first album, “David Bowie”.

“Space Oddity” single was released in 1969 and reached fifth on the United Kingdom billboard charts. He released the album, “Space Oddity” later that year, and the United States was titled, “Man of Words/Man of Music”. In 1972, David launched the Ziggy Stardust stage Show, which featured David with red hair, and amazing costumes. The album, “Station to Station” was released in 1986, which was a mixture of funk, soul and rock.

David Bowie got together with the band Queen in 1991, and released, “Under Pressure”, which was a huge hit in the United States and the United Kingdom. “Let’s Dance” was released two years later, and reached the top of the charts in both countries. “China Girl” immediately followed along with “Modern Love”, and all three songs were on the twenty of the billboard charts together.

In 1999, David Bowie created a soundtrack for a computer game called, “Omikron”. In 2006, David Bowie was awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. David Bowie didn’t stop at the age of sixty six, as he announced the album, “The Next Day” that was to be released that same year, 2013.

David Bowie is an amazing musician, but he also done acting. A few of the movies that he appeared in include “The Man Who Fell From Earth”, “The Virgin Soldiers”, “Just a Gigolo”, and “A View to Kill”. David Bowie was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. David Bowie sold over one hundred and forty million albums during his career. He was ranked twenty-nine as the BBC’s 100 Greatest Britons.
