Blondie T-Shirts

Blondie was founded by Debbie Harry and Chris Stein in 1974. Blondie is rock, punk, and new-wave band. Debbie Harry was a Playboy bunny who sang with the Stilettoes. The two was called Angel and the Snake until two truck drivers called out to the duo, “Hey, Blondie”, and the name stuck as the new band’s name. Blondie consisted of Debbie Harry, Chris Stein, Clem Burke, and Gary Valentine.

Blondie released their first album, “Blondie”, in 1976. In 1978, Blondie released their second album, “Plastic Letters”, which ranked ten on the United Kingdom Billboard charts, and seventy eight on the United States charts. Blondie’s third album was a bigger success for the band. The third album, “Parallel Lines” hit number one on United Kingdom, and number six on the United States Billboard chart. “Heart of Glass” was a worldwide hit that sold over twenty million copies.

“One Way or Another” was Blondie’s next big hit. The hit was a number one hit for the band. Blondie was nominated for a Grammy with the hit, “Call Me”. “Call Me” stayed number one in the United States for nearly two months. Blondie appeared in the movie, “Roadie” that also starred Meatloaf. Blondie sung Johnny Cash’s song, “Ring of Fire” in the movie.

Blondie released their fifth album in 1980, which was called, “Autoamerican”. On this album the song, “The Tide is High” was a number one hit for the band. Blondie announced the band was going to end in 1982. Chris Stein was diagnosed with a serious illness, and financial troubles for the band caused the band to end.

Debbie Harry went on to start her solo career, but in 1997 the band was going to rejoin with the original members. They released the “No Exit” album which ranked high on the United Kingdom charts. The band then released, “The Curse of Blondie”, which was the band’s lowest selling album ever. In 2012, Blondie celebrated the 30th Anniversary of Parallel Lines by doing a concert in Maryland. Blondie did a few concerts throughout the states as well.

In 2014, “Ghosts of Download” was released. The album was to celebrate Blondie’s 40th anniversary, and the band was scheduled to tour that same year.
