Queen T-Shirts

Queen was formed in 1970. Queen is a British rock band. The members of Queen include Freddie Mercury, John Deacon, Brian May, and Roger Taylor. In July 1973, Queen released their debut album. Queen’s logo was designed by Freddie Mercury. Freddie Mercury attended art college, so he decided to create the logo.

The logo was called Queen crest. The logo has each of the band members zodiac signs combined together, which was two lions for the Leo sign, a crab for the Cancer sign, two fairies, for Virgo, then the lions are embracing the letter Q, and the Q is in a stylish form. The crab rest on top of the Q with flames rising above it, then the fairies are below each lion. There is a small crown that rest inside of the Q, then the logo has a shadow by a huge phoenix. The symbol bears the passing resemblance to the Royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom. Fans of Queen can see the original Queen logo on the reverse side of their first album cover.

In 1974, Queen released the Sheer Heart Attack album. The album featured a new sound and melody, which would be to follow on their next album. A year later, Queen released A Night at the Opera. The name of the album was taken from the Marx Brothers movie. The “Bohemian Rhapsody” was on this album and was a huge hit in the UK and US. It was the only single to ever sell a million copies on two different occasions.

Queen continued to put out hit songs. “We are the Champions” became a well-known song for the band. It is often used for sports anthems. “Another One Bites the Dust”, and “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” reached number one in the eighties as soon as the songs were released. The band had a unique sound of their very own, and fans loved them.

Anytime a Queen song is played you can picture Freddie Mercury singing with that amazing voice that he had, and you can’t stop to think of what outrageous costume he would be wearing. Freddie Mercury passed away on November 24, 1991 from complication of AIDS.

In 2011, the remaining Queen band members announced that they would be recording a new album that would feature lost demos of Freddie Mercury on vocals. The album would be called Queen Forever, and released this year, 2014.
