National Lampoon’s Animal House was derived from the National Lampoon magazine. The Animal House movie was released in 1978, and is a movie that is packed with laughs. The movie is based around a group of fraternity members, but these aren’t your ordinary fraternity members. The group of guys are a mixture of misfits with one thing in common, and that is they all like to challenge the Faber College dean.

National Lampoon’s Animal House is set in 1962 at Faber College. The movie starts out with Larry Kroger and Kent Dorman seeking out fraternity’s to join. The two first visit the Omega Theta Pi’s invitation party, but they are not welcome there, so the two try the Delta Tau Chi House. The two think they are guaranteed to get in this fraternity, because Kent is a “legacy”, due to his brother was a member. When they show up at Delta Tau Chi House they find Bluto urinating outside the house. Larry and Kent are permitted to pledge, because the fraternity need the dues, and they are given the fraternity names “Flounder” and “Pluto”.

Dean Wormer is wanting to get the Delta’s removed from the college campus, because the fraternity has repeatedly had low academic standing and violations. Dean Wormer’s goal throughout the movie is catching the Delta’s doing something wrong, so they are kicked out.

When Bluto and D-Day stole the psychology test answers, and the Omegas planted the fake answers was what prompted the famous toga party.

The famous Delta Toga party is one of the highlights of the movie. Remember Otis Day and the Knights was at the party? They sang the song “Shout”, which is a popular song for the movie. Bluto is played by John Belushi. Bluto is a drunk who has been in college seven years. Bluto has a GPA of 0.0. Some of the funniest moments in the movie was with Bluto. The scene in the cafeteria where Bluto has his cheeks full of food, then he takes his hands and hits his cheeks. Food is spit all over.
